From the beginning, our goal was to build a company that combined the characteristics business owners indicated they wanted to see in a professional business advisor firm.  Most business owners have a clear preference for services provided by experienced professionals rather than junior staff, for solutions that are tailored to their specific challenges, to provide complete solutions using experts in each area rather than generalists, for ways to assure they receive the end value they want to see, and for engagements to be cost effective.  Think Strategy’s mission is to help you to grow your Business’ Value and to avoid situations that may erode value.

As a result, Think Strategy is a company that is committed to increasing the value of your company.  As an example, many business owners have given large amounts of their life to developing their company including, ‘blood, sweat and tears’ as well as finances and sometimes relationships and health.  Therefore, it is important that this investment is protected, and where possible grown and developed so that the value of the business increases.

Non-owning Directors and Managers success is also ‘entwined’ with the company and they need it to be successful and grow – in size and value.  A successful company should have focussed and motivated people, often sharing in the financial success.  When you spend a large portion of your life at work you want to feel valued and enjoy it.

I am a consultative advisor, coach, director and manager with values that include integrity and empathy. MBA qualified with experience at a senior level in hi-tech, IT, Finance, Utilities & health sectors in the UK and internationally. Focused on developing strong, cohesive and successful teams and businesses that deliver sustainable growth and value.

In New Zealand, I volunteered as a Business Advisor for several years helping small business after the devastating earthquakes.

Experienced and successful strategic Change, Business Transformation, Sales & Marketing, Project and Operations Manager and Director. Worked with large institutions and local SMEs and Start Ups in countries that include NZ, Australia, Canada, India and the UK; delivering products and services.

Professional Sales Expert

Over the years, my passion in professional selling has developed internationally in the UK and Australasia.  I have been privileged to work for some great companies including GE Capital and Goldman Sachs.  As Head of Business Development for ANZ Banking, I delivered sales training for the whole group.

Presently, I work closely with clients including service providers, manufacturing and development industries and franchised entities to develop sales strategies, implement change, coach and train professional sales people.

Tim Cobley BA Hons
Business Advisor & Director

Tim is a Director with almost 30 years of Sales, Marketing and Consulting experience mainly gained within Hi Tech Organisations.  This has included advising clients on optimising technology and outsourcing.  He has held several senior sales and business leadership positions within technology and IT organisations.

Tim understands the importance to businesses of retaining profitable customers and promotes the value of the  'Excellent Customer Experience'.  Tim's experience also includes successful large complex 'deal' negotiations, which hee has achieved in the Financial Services and Telecom sectors .  He  has set up and run three technology organisations and is therefore well versed in how to run a business, and has a wide network of contacts and influencers.

He has an Honours Degree from the University of Stirling and is fluent in two foreign languages

Customer Service Expert

I spent over 25 years in senior customer-facing with American Airlines and I am passionate about Customer Service.  I also have a Master’s Degree from the Strathclyde Business School and spent 6 years as a teaching fellow at the University of the West of Scotland where I imparted my passion for marketing and customer service to students of all ages.

 

I also developed and delivered programmes for a Golf Tourism and  hospitality micro-business throughout Scotland. and will be doing the same across the country.  I also work with SMEs to effectively integrate marketing and customer service to increase business performance and deliver an excellent customer experience.
